Trying to find her new school, Cocoa meets a classmate by the name of Chiya Ujimatsu. But upon finding out school doesn't start until the next day they return to Rabbit House to hang out with Chino and Rize. In this time they learn to make bread, and pay a visit to the shop ran by Chiya's family.
Cocoa recalls that a customer from the other day told her that she had an older-sister complex. Rize is perplexed by her happiness over a negative statement, leading Chino to realize that Cocoa doesn't really know what it means.
Dressed for school, Cocoa practices a few student-type looks; like studious and a cool delinquent. Chino comes inside to inform her of the time and the girls depart, with Cocoa expressing delight that they can walk together. But after a few minutes she is shocked to learn that Chino meets up with her friends and they go in a different direction. Unable to help this, Cocoa continues when she spots Rize up ahead. They exchange a few words after Cocoa compliments how cool her uniform looks, then she heads on her way. Rize is suspicious after Cocoa passes by her a second time, followed by a third, fourth, and fifth. She loses her patience after Cocoa asks her if she is lost.
As she heads down another path, Cocoa happens to spot a white rabbit. As she cuddles it another comes out, then she finds a girl holding some chestnut youkan. Many other rabbits surround her and Cocoa begins to observe the girl until being spotted. The girl invites her to sit down with her and gives her the youkan since the rabbits don't seem to want it, and Cocoa introduces herself. The girl compliments her name and introduces herself as Chiya. She happily comments on how Cocoa likes the youkan and brings up what she calls it. While Cocoa doesn't seem to understand the name, she remarks that it sounds cool. This convinces Chiya they will be good friends.
After Chiya notices they wear the same school uniform, Cocoa panics upon seeing what time it is and she grabs Chiya's hand to pull her in another direction. After circling the area once, Chiya gets Cocoa to calm down by informing her that they don't have an entrance ceremony today. Cocoa reacts to this and Chiya suggests they go to take a look at the school anyway, to avoid getting lost again. Cocoa gratefully agrees and eventually they find the front gate, where Cocoa excitedly thinks about everything she will do while there.
Just then, she realizes that because she already graduated Middle School, they're at the wrong location again.
Chino and her friends separate from each other once the school day ends. She finds Cocoa cleaning and asks how the day went, only met with dodgy answers and suspicious statements. Chino remains suspicious and Cocoa gives up and just asks that she stops.
The next day the girls are leaving school when they happen to smell bread from the bakery. Cocoa brings up that her family were bread makers in the past, she would love to have some. Chiya is delighted that she can relate, but with the Japanese sweets she makes- although she finds naming products to be the most fun.
At Rabbit House, Cocoa changes into her uniform and asks if they have a working oven for the shop. She suggests they come up with a menu board for a day off, but Rize reminds the girls they need to focus on work right now. Cocoa acknowledges this but she struggles to concentrate, given that she is also hungry at the time.
Later the girls gather to come up with some recipe ideas and in this time, Cocoa introduces Chiya to Rize and Chino; as well as Tippy, who she mistakenly assumes is a dog. Nobody corrects her on this, which internally annoys Rize. With Cocoa being allowed to make bread, the girls observe their suddenly fired up friend and this encourages Rize to follow her orders, along with an excited Chiya and concerned Chino, who finds the whole thing to be overbearing.
Cocoa decides that rather than making yakisoba bread, she's going to make yakiudon bread. Chiya mentions bringing along Azuki beans, plums, and nori seaweed with her, and Chino brings up the salmon roe, natto, salmon, and konbu seaweed with sesame she found. As Rize reminds them they are making bread, she points out the Strawberry and marmalade jams she found. Cocoa explains the process of forming bread, unaware of how freaked out Chino is getting hearing about "yeast fungus" and how it's in the dough. Cocoa forms the dough together, followed by the other three. While Rize is able to do it pretty easily, Chiya is quickly worn out by the process, but she tries avoiding letting anyone notice so that she doesn't create more work for Cocoa.
In the hour the bread takes to sit, the girls use the time to rest before resuming work on the dough, rolling it out and preparing it into various small batches. They turn them into various shapes and set them on a tray; with Chino placing her into the oven while revealing she shaped hers like her grandfather. Tippy is pleased until she makes a comment about baking grandfather, causing him to freak out.
Cocoa calls Chiya to reveal the latte art she worked out for her, very happy to see it came out good. Chiya prepares to take a sip until noticing Cocoa has been making an alarmed expression each time she's about to try it. After the third time, she hurriedly downs the drink when Cocoa gets distracted noticing Chino has been observing the oven. Rize joins her to see what could be so entertaining.
When the bread comes out the girls are surprised to see how well they came out, but Rize remarks on how unappealing they all sound. Cocoa reveals the Tippy Bread she made -which the girls find to be very cute- and they consider adding it to the menu, until she reveals putting strawberry jam in it. It tastes very good but Rize is worried it might look horrific to the customers.
The next day the girls search for the Coffee Shop owned by Chiya's family, recalling the name of Ama Usa An. Chino brings up that it used to be a rival shop of her own families, and soon they locate it. They step inside to find Chiya and greet her before spotting a black rabbit that belongs to Chiya. She introduces it as Anko, and remarks on how inactive he is- until he spots Tippy. He knocks over Chino and chases Tippy around the room, causing the girls to wonder if Anko may be territorial. Chiya is convinced it has to be love, which causes Cocoa confusion as she thought Tippy was a boy. Chino explains that Tippy is female, but not on the inside.
With the girls seated, Chiya serves them some green tea with latte art. She wasn't able to make it cutesy-looking, but they do look really fancy; one even has writing in it. Cocoa goes on to ask Chiya why her hair is worn in braids as she hands Rize a menu and she reads over the long names she has come up with: Trio of Glistening Gems, Red Jewel in a Snowy Field, Moon and Stars Reflected Upon the Sea, Triplet Gems of the Flowering Capital, Golden Shachihoko Special, Princess's Jewelry Box, Frozen Evergreen, Ephemeral Ophelia, and Milky Way of Summer Memories. To their surprise, Cocoa seems to translate the menu very well, so the other two decide to order something random and see what happens.
Eventually Chiya returns with the sweets. Bringing Rize the Moon and Stars Reflected Upon the Sea, the Triplet Gems of the Flowering Capital for Chino, and the Golden Sachihoko for Cocoa. They begin to enjoy their snacks until noticing Anko won't touch the youkan Chiya offers him. As Cocoa seems to think he may want some of their items, she offers a bite to him if he will let her cuddle him later. He rejects her and he leaps over her to dig into the item until Chino picks him up to put him back on his stand. She comments that they don't sell things like this at Rabbit House, leading Chiya to suggest they make a collaborative item. While she likes this idea, Chino and Cocoa begin picturing the type of merchandise they could come up with.
After they finish, Cocoa asks Chino if she would like to pet Anko. Rize brings up that no other animal seems to like her besides Tippy, and Chino hesitantly approaches, touching his ear. When he doesn't react she slowly rubs his back, then hesitantly picks him up to cuddle. She puts him on the top of her head, and Anko seems not to mind.
Rize suggests they take off for Rabbit House when Cocoa brings up that if she was staying with Chiya, she probably would have been working there instead. They believe she would fit in there since it's a lot like Rabbit House, but Cocoa worriedly notices how supportive Chiya is being by the off-handed comment. The girls take off, unaware that they forgot to bring home Tippy until they arrive, noticing Anko is with them.
Back at Ama Usa, Chiya feeds Tippy some chestnut youkan.
